Eye to the Future is a Blind Citizens Australia initiative dedicated to improving employment outcomes for people who are blind or vision impaired. The project provides valuable resources, tools and guidance for both job seekers and employers, helping to break down barriers to employment and create more inclusive workplaces.
Through Eye to the Future, we:
- Support job seekers who are blind or vision-impaired with practical resources to navigate the job market confidently.
- Provide resources for young people and students in transitioning from education to employment, providing guidance on career pathways, work readiness and self-advocacy.
- Educate and empower employers to implement inclusive hiring practices, workplace adjustments and accessible technologies.
- Partner with businesses and other disability organisations to drive industry-wide change and promote employment opportunities for people who are blind or vision impaired.
- Advocate for systemic change, challenging misconceptions and promoting the value that people who are blind or vision impaired bring to the workforce.
By working together, we can create more opportunities and ensure workplaces are truly accessible for all. Individually, and together, we create change.
